Getting Started with Workflows

Learn how to use Rowland's Workflows to generate spreadsheets from your documents.

The Workflows spreadsheet builder is the area where anyone can generate spreadsheets from their documents. Whether you're extracting lease provisions from 100 oil and gas leases at once or compiling Division Order data from a large batch of DOs, this is the perfect place to create spreadsheet extractions. Your data can then be easily exported to Excel, CSV, or JSON formats.

Steps to Run an Extraction

  1. Go to Workflows and click Start Workflow.
  2. Click the New Extraction icon (top right).
  3. Select the documents to extract from.
  4. Choose an extraction mode.
  5. Add the desired Fields with descriptions.
  6. Click Continue to Review.
  7. Click Start Extraction.
  8. Review the results and export the data.

Extraction Modes

  • Single: One set of information per document.
  • Multiple Records: Multiple instances per document (e.g., multiple wells in an AFE).

Reviewing and Verifying Results

Once the extraction is complete, navigate to the Review tab located on the right side of the screen to validate your results.

  • Click on any individual extraction row to automatically open the corresponding source document
  • View the extracted data and the original document side by side for quick verification
  • Easily confirm accuracy or identify any fields that may need adjustment

This streamlined review process makes it easy to validate large datasets with confidence.

💡 Tip: You can upload multiple documents at once, saving time. Simply select all the files you want and click "Upload Files".
